Product name: LinkStudio DotNetNuke module
Release date: available now
Microsoft technologies: .NET 1.1, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2000
Description: DotNetNuke is an open-source Web Application Framework ideal for creating and deploying projects such as commercial websites, corporate intranets and extranets, online publishing portals, and custom vertical applications.
The LinkStudio DotNetNuke module takes advantage of the extensibility framework provided by DNN and provides tight integration between your DNN web site and your LinkStudio Database.
The LinkStudio DNN module consists of three modules – the Login, Edit Details and Prize modules.
Installation is simply a matter of uploading the private assembly to your site, adding an instance of the LinkStudio Login module to a page and using the Login configuration page to point it towards your LinkStudio database. Once this initial configuration has been completed, the LinkStudio DNN modules are used just like any other DotNetNuke modules. Add them to the page, change a few settings and you’re good to go. The Edit Details module allows you to build a signup page with additional content, or you can just use the default one that consists of the bare minimum required to collect your visitors’ details.
The Prize module is very easy to use. Set up a prize in LinkStudio just as you would for it to be given away in-studio, but by allocating it to the Web instead of the normal allocations, it will then appear in the list of prizes available to choose from in the LinkStudio DNN Prize module configuration page. Visitors to your web site will be able to register themselves for the prizes that you make available, increasing participation in your promotions by orders of magnitude. You can also run more advanced promotions with less effort than if the registrants were being collected through the studio.
